In an age of high-tech computers, the age old art of calligraphy is flourishing. Until recently, calligraphy as an art form has not really been understood or appreciated by the general public. Today, however, there are an increasing number of exhibitions in respected galleries and museums across the nation that focus on the calligraphic arts. The formation of the international Association for the Calligraphic Arts promises to further promote and support the art of calligraphy around the world.
On a smaller scale, the various calligraphy guilds of Florida have joined hands in an effort to further promote the lettering arts in the state of Florida. We meet at least once a year, have an annual weekend retreat, a statewide newsletter and this web site. Check this site often for updates on the endeavors of the Calligraphy Societies of Florida!
